Topshop tourney report 9/12/12

Borrowed ChickenNoodles signature deck, the deck didn't listen to me. This picture pretty much sums up the kind of hands I got the entire day.

Tournament Report @ SGCardmart 25/11/12

Hey everyone! So I headed down to SGCardmart on Sunday running on 3 hours of sleep from the past 48 hours after helping out at a church camp with one of my decks which required little to no brains to operate, namely Offering Gadgets. No intent to bash any players with Gadgets as their main deck of choice, just feel that it's definitely one of the decks which requires less on thinking and more on what's in your hand.

So on to the report!

Results: XOX (Shared with him going up from having a better chance. We did play a match but retardedly such as him Rekindling for Handmaiden and Lady then Normal Summoning a Snowman Eater just because he can and me doing even more stupid stunts)

Took Choraiou in the end. One step closer to finishing my Fire Fists.

Prior to this tournament, there was a TopShop qualifier which I got kicked out during the first round against Weiann from unfortunately pairing with him so early. He managed to make it to top 2 though, so it's cool considering he's a friend as well and definitely better than having some random person qualify. Bixuan/Sazabi took the other top 2 slot and he was kind enough to pass me his Thousand Taste Trading slot which was nice of him, so a big shoutout to him. That slot won't go to waste I can promise you.

That being said, I'll be heading into TopShop this year! Sadly ChickenNoodle won't be as he didn't have enough time to go for more than one qualifier and the only qualifier he went was a huge one, giving him a harder chance to make it to the top 2.

Other than that, thoughts on TopShop? Nothing much, just gonna find a deck that likes me and suits my questionable playstyle I guess. Limited deck choice as I sold off a majority of my deck sets and are left with a few competitive ones, all of which are non-Tier 0/1 and more of Tier 2/3. So.. Yeah, expect me to play some Tier 2/3 deck with a "Zippy-Twist" to it.

Mini-Tournament Report @ AGC 18/11/12

So.. Yeah popped down to AGC on Sunday for a quick mini-tourney. Was bored after 2 weeks of non-stop YOLO-ing so decided to slow things down abit with some Dark World.

So on to the tourney report!

So yeah split 21 packs into 10-10 with Calvin and the one with the not-so-good foils would take the last pack, I got some decent stuff so he took the last pack. Quick tourney to test a build, have come to a conclusion that Reckless Greed is good, but takes up too much space in a non-Asia Plus format and is easily replaceable as I sided it out most of the time.

As for this week being the last TopShop qualifiers, I'd have to say that I'll only be playing on Sunday's one at SGCardMart as Saturday I'll be away helping out at a camp from Friday and will only be back at noon on Sunday.

Other than that, my only opinion on the game in Singapore is that I still won't resort to worrying about maining Maxx "C" in all my decks as compared to maining Veiler's in the Inzektor era, as unlike Inzektors, Wind-Ups actually require brains to use and the sad but relieving truth is that the majority of Wind-Ups here in Singapore are piloted by filled wallets and not by filled minds.

Overall I can say that this deck pretty much flows with my playstyle, the kind where you invest almost, if not your entire hand and pray it wins you the game or you proceed to say: "Next game."

Nothing much left to say, so I'll go do some work before I get beheaded tomorrow.

Recently been playing all the decks with a linear strategy with minimal off-handed tricks, reason being I'm really too tired to be thinking and I'm not in a very good state of mind to do problem solving. The deck was a fun and funny way of showing what a real "do-or-die" strategy is, hence the name YOLO Heroes.

 

On a side note, a few things I want to address:

-Cosmos Blazar setlist looks like it has alot of potential stored, might be a pack where commons could be useful in the near future.

-ChickenNoodle and I have yet to go for a TopShop qualifier due to his work and me having bad relationships with Single Eli format tournaments previously.

-Might be slightly less active in terms of joining tournaments in the coming weeks due to voluntary commitments to help out elsewhere.

Other than that, that's probably all.
